Tamika Reed

Tamika Reed is an attorney by profession, but found a passion for promoting healthy living and wellness initiatives within her community. She has a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Arts degree in Psychology which have shaped her personal pursuit of a well-balanced, healthy lifestyle for herself and her family. Tamika and her husband, Steven, the first African American Mayor of Montgomery, AL, have 3 children Kyla, 22, Joe Klein, 13 and Karsten, 10. Tamika enjoys running, taking long walks, cooking and practicing yoga.

Elizabeth Mazyck

Elizabeth Mazyck is a stay-at-home mother of three young children. She’s knows first-hand the struggle to prioritize one’s own mental and physical health when there are so many demands on the home front. Mothers can often feel isolated, lonely, and disconnected from their former selves. Through Move Montgomery social media platforms, Elizabeth aims to bring awareness to local resources, activities, and events in an effort to connect citizens to a community that encourages a healthy, well-balanced lifestyle.

Corey Ellis

Corey Ellis is the owner, and operator of RezFIT Fitness & Wellness, in Montgomery. Corey is a Hurricane Katrina survivor. He attended Grambling State University, in Grambling, LA, from 2001-2005, where he received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Information Systems. Corey, proving that you just may have a passion for a completely different occupation opposite of what your educational concentration & degree dictates, by venturing, and pursuing a career in the field of health and wellness. Corey is a certified personal trainer, group fitness trainer, YOGA instructor, and youth sports performance trainer. “A lifestyle journey that started for me, in 2005, has become a lifetime mission, to continue to help more, until I can’t help anymore!”

Dr. Courtney Griffin

Facing her own health issues, Dr. Courtney Griffin chose to look beyond prescriptions and pursue a healthier lifestyle. Combating a diagnosis while addressing nutrition and exercise, was paramount to getting ahead of tests and measures of her prognosis. Her commitment to 'move' has already resulted in several positive indicators for her and her family. As data and research analyst, Dr. Griffin brings a wealth of experience in data management and mining for strategic planning that are sure to foster positive and accurate results for participants.

Jo Shuford-Guice

Jo Shuford-Guice is a Nurse Practitioner by profession with more than 20 years of experience. She has specialized in Emergency Medicine, Dermatology and Cardiology. She currently serves as President of the Advanced Practitioners for the River Region. “Over the years, I have had a front row seat in seeing the effects of multiple comorbidities which may stem from a lack of discipline in dieting and exercise. I am a firm believer, that once these two things are addressed appropriately, health and wellness may follow.” As a medical provider in the community, NP Guice will provide invaluable information addressing health issues.

Nichole Thompson

Nichole Thompson is an educator and entrepreneur by trade but she is also deeply passionate and committed to health and wellness. In response to COVID 19, she co-founded JustEAT, Justice through Education about food, Activism for food equality, and healthy Transformation of our communities. “I firmly believe that if we can provide practical tools for eating healthier and moving our bodies at least 30 min a day, we will see significant improvements in the well-being of our community.”
